How looking back in anger is bad for your health

Researchers discovered that remembering the past with regret or bitterness worsens health.

The study by the University of Granada (UGR) found that people’s attitude to past events, present experiences or future expectations, influences their perception of health and their quality of life.

Cristián Oyanadel, who co-authored the study, said: “We have observed that when people are negative about past events in their life, they also have a pessimist or fatalistic attitude towards current events.

“This generates greater problems in their relationships and these people present worse quality of life indicators.”

The researchers assessed 50 people – 25 women and 25 men aged from 20 to 70 – from a randomised sample, using questionnaires and time orientation tests.

State: Second doctor’s license restricted for performing stem cell treatment on patient who died

The state Department of Health restricted a second doctor’s license for working under the direction of Dr. Zannos Grekos in performing a stem cell treatment and for falsifying a medical report after a patient died, according to the state order.

The emergency license restriction is against Dr. Konstantine K. Yankopolus, 3880 Colonial Blvd., Suite 2, Fort Myers, according to the order issued by the state health department late Monday.

The restriction only prohibits Yankopolus from doing anything with stem cells.

Obesity Raises Death Risk Tied To Sleeping Pills

Obesity appears to significantly increase the risk of death tied to sleeping pills, nearly doubling the rate of mortality even among those prescribed 18 or fewer pills in a year, researchers reported Friday.

“Obesity emerged as a marker of increased vulnerability,” said Robert Langer, M.D., M.P.H., at the annual American Heart Association’s Epidemiology and Prevention | Nutrition, Physical Activity and Metabolism 2012 Scientific Sessions in San Diego.
