Bronzer and the Fair Gal
Posted By Angelina Drennan on June 26, 2011

As a fair-skinned gal, bronzer and I often do not get along. This is partly my fault; I can be heavy handed at times when I attempt to befriend bronzer. This is also partly bronzer’s fault; I blame him (or her?) for not being as readily available as I would like in a shade that is more my cup of tea. I recently picked up Becca’s Mineral Bronzing/Highlighting Duo during a trip to New York, and it has helped mend my relationship with bronzer. This is THE perfect bronzer for fair skin; it warms the skin with just the right amount of light, matte color and blends out beautifully. Being a pale gal who always embraced her paleness, I’ve seen the light and now realize a little warmth breathes life into my complexion. When it comes to placement, a tip I picked up recently is drawing a capital “E” and a “3” on my cheeks; this way I don’t get carried away. And as with any bronzer, I make sure to buff bronzer into the hairline on the sides of my cheeks to help make the color look more natural. As a bonus, the other side has a highlighter in a very soft shade with non-threatening shimmer. This highlighter will not make you look like a disco ball; it subtlety illuminates skin. If you’re in New York, I am jealous of you … Becca is widely available there in Duane Reed Lookboutiques. Becca is an amazing brand that I wish I had easy access to. I’m told that their West Coast distribution is on the horizon, so we have that to look forward to; but for now, it is available online at Beccacosmetics.com.
