Though the concept has actually been around for over 30 years, only fairly recently have the masses been privileged to know of this safer, simpler solution for everyday foundation application. Ever since its unveiling we ladies have been ecstatic over the idea of an easily applied, natural looking, pore-friendly face makeup that would boost our everyday confidence. However, as we all know, the downside to anything becoming popularized is there will soon be 400 different versions soon to follow; which do you trust? Each of the major brands, both drugstore and department store, have their own mineral makeup and it seems like a new type pops up every time we make way to the makeup sections. And what with winter fast on approach, we need to make sure we are purchasing a perfectly all-season product that wont dry us out and still protects us from damage by sun. Well here is a tested A-list of the tops from the most widely available brands that I’m sure help!
The key features we are looking for in a quality mineral foundation are:
-safe to sleep in
-doesn’t clash oily or dry skin
-largely from natural derivatives and doesn’t clog pores
-humidity-proof (some are sweat-proof, even)
-lightweight
-provides a natural-toned, even coverage and even enhances your natural color for a healthy glow
Now, as mentioned, the top brands all produce some sort of mineral makeup these days alongside the classic original contenders. In order of top to mediocre, here is a list of recommended readily available bests:
L’Oreal Bare Naturale
For the price and availability they cannot be beat! Byfar a fast favorite of the newer generation of minerals, the brand provides excellent vibrant coverage, has the widest range of shades (out of the drugstore brands), and wears continuously throughout the day! It gives a smooth, velvety feel when applied and mixes well with other beauty products.
Their bottle plus brush container can be a bit messy though, make sure you keep an eye on how much you load up the brush!
