Instead of hiding her curves and voluptuous figure, she embraces it coompletely. Her embracement of her body shows unparalleled confidence, and as everyone knows, confidence is sexy. Every woman can take a page out of Joan Holloway’s stylebook on how to be sexy without showing obscene amounts of skin. Here are the main components of her wardrobe.
Pencil skirts: Pencil skirts are a huge part of Joan’s wardrobe. The skirts she wears always hit her knees or fall slightly below. They fit well that they show off her curves but not too much that it looks too small.
Well tailored button down shirts or blouses: Joan usually pairs her pencil skirts with a nice button down shirt or a nice blouse in a flowing material. She is definitely a fan of color and many of her shirts are red, purple and blue.
Sheath dress: Joan is also a fan of fitted sheath dresses. Like most women of her time, she always keeps the neckline high enough to cover her bosom, and her dresses always reach at least knee length. She also sometimes accessories her dresses with broaches. She tends to wear dresses in colors like purple, red, blue, and olive.
Sweater dress: The same rules that Joan applies to her sheath dresses, she appears to apply to her wiggle dresses as well. She keeps the hemline below the knees and a high neckline. The key to being sexy and not over doing it is to keep skin hidden while showing off your figure.
Joan Holloway is rarely seen in black. She prefers to stick to vibrant colors and neutrals. She also doesn’t wear patterned clothing; most of her clothes are in solid colors. This keeps her style fresh and classic.
