Do You Apply Makeup While Driving?

If you regularly drive a car and you also regularly wear makeup, chances are you’ve swiped on some lipstick while behind the wheel. Why else would they put those little mirrors in the sun visor? Hopefully, you’ve only touched yourself up while your car is in park—because applying makeup while driving is actually more dangerous than talking on a cell phone or keying in a phone number. Researchers from the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute conducted a year-long study and found that putting on makeup made a driver three times more likely to get in an accident, while talking on a cell phone made them 1.3 times as likely.
